Edinburgh Student Housing Co-operative

Edinburgh Student Housing Co-operative houses 106 students. Our cooperative is located on Bruntsfield links and was previously operated as student accommodation by Edinburgh Napier University before we acquired a lease for the buildings in 2014. It is now the largest student-run housing cooperative in the UK. Our organisation offers affordable housing to many vulnerable individuals who will struggle to find safe accommodation due to financial limitations and systemic discrimination based on their race, gender, and disabilities. ESHC is unique for operating through a democratic consensus decision-making process, empowering every member and ensuring their voice is heard. 

 

The current cost of living crisis is threatening the cooperative's financial sustainability so we are seeking help from the wider community!
